What is rPET?

rPET is made by transforming post-consumer PET plastic bottles into high-quality textile fibres. This upcycling process keeps plastic out of landfills and oceans, reduces the need for new plastic, and supports a circular economy. It also cuts carbon emissions by up to 79% and uses up to 50% less energy.

rPET products are strong, durable, and built to last, offering lightweight reliability without sacrificing quality. Same product. Same performance. Just made from recycled bottles instead of new plastic.

How is rPET Made?

  • A large pile of crushed plastic water bottles, including brands like Coca-Cola, Dasani, and Aquafina.

    Collection

    Post-consumer plastic bottles are collected and sorted, kept out of landfills and oceans, and prepared for a new life through recycling.

    Shredding and Cleaning

    Labels and caps are removed, then the bottles are thoroughly washed and shredded into clean, consistent plastic flakes

    Pellet Formation

    The plastic flakes are melted down, filtered, and formed into tiny, uniform pellets for easier handling and processing.

    Yarn Production

    These pellets are melted again, then cooled, stretched, and spun into soft, high-quality yarn suitable for textile manufacturing.

    Fabric Creation

    The rPET yarn is then woven or knitted into durable fabric, ready to be cut, sewn, or dyed depending on its final application.
